The capital of Malaysia surprised me by its huge contrast, where contemporary and ancient traditions harmoniously coexist in one place.
One of interesting examples of such a blend is a modern technological city centre and roads full of rows with Chinese goods. There are also a lot of Muslim women wearing paranja and cross-dressers in the streets. The city is famous for its Petronas Towers, incredibly complicated in technological terms twin skyscrapers, and Batu Caves, a Hindu sacred place. You can see all of that and more in Kuala Lumpur.
